SAVE ARMENIA ANNOUNCES HIGH-LEVEL U.S. DELEGATION TO ARMENIA
Washington, D.C. – Save Armenia announced that a high-level U.S. delegation of Christian leaders, elected officials, human rights advocates, journalists, and business and civic leaders will visit Armenia from September 13-19, 2026.
The delegation arrives as the peace process moves from diplomatic commitments toward implementation. Delegates will focus on Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the release of Armenian detainees held in Azerbaijan, the rights of Armenians displaced from Artsakh, and the protection of Armenian Christian and cultural heritage.
“Peace must be measured by more than documents and diplomatic ceremonies,” said Dr. Paul Murray, CEO of Save Armenia. “It must be demonstrated through security, respect for sovereignty, human dignity, and the preservation of a people’s history and faith. We will listen directly to those living with the consequences of the conflict and assess developments on the ground.”
Delegates will meet with government officials, faith and civil society leaders, journalists, business leaders, displaced families, and local communities. They will also visit historic religious and cultural sites and learn firsthand about Armenia’s security, humanitarian, and economic challenges.
The visit follows Save Armenia’s Truth in Tourism initiative, which challenged tourism listings promoting sites in Artsakh without acknowledging the forced displacement of more than 120,000 Armenians in September 2023 or the region’s Armenian Christian heritage. The initiative affirmed that economic activity must not contribute to the erasure of people, memory, or truth.
The visit will draw upon Save Armenia’s Peace Indicator, which evaluates sovereignty, security, lawful connectivity, human rights, and cultural heritage. After returning, delegates will share their findings through media, public education, faith-based networks, and policy discussions in the United States.
